What if I don’t get a confirmation email?
Remember to check your spam folder or add admin@ipo-records.com to your approved list so you can receive future emails from us. If you don’t see your confirmation email within a few minutes, email us at signup@ipo-records.com and we will help you get an account up and running as soon as possible.
What if I forgot my password?
In the login window you will see an padlock icon, click on that and enter your email. It will send you a new password.

Subscriptions & Membership

How long do subscriptions run?
Subscriptions are billed monthly, every three months, or every six months, depending on which you choose. All billing recurs automatically via the PayPal account that you provide us. You are free to cancel anytime, by simply letting us know that you would not like to be billed for your next billing cycle.
What is the minimum age for membership?
There is no minimum age for membership, but if you are under 18 please get the consent of an adult for any subscription or service that requires payment.
What do I get with my Free Artist Account?
Log in to your account, click on Services, then Subscriptions. You will see a Compare button on your Subscriptions page that will give you a list of everything that is included with your Free Artist account, as well as a comparison chart where you’ll see the benefits of upgrading to a Gold, Platinum or Rockstar account.
How can I upgrade my Free Artist Account, or change my current subscription?
To compare the types of accounts and their features, click on the Compare button at the subscriptions page in your Artist Settings. This chart will give you a full description of our Gold, Platinum and Rockstar accounts, as well as an opportunity to subscribe the one that rocks your world.
How do I cancel my membership?
Cancel your subscription payment at Paypal and your subscription will not renew when the time runs out.

Uploading media to my Artist Profile

How do I upload Mp3’s or Wave files?
Login to your account, click on Settings, then Songs, then Create Songs, and follow the instructions on that page to add a song to your profile.
What if I’m not technically savvy and don’t have the first clue how to get my music, photos or videos updated on my Artist Profile?
We have a team of “Nerdy Artists” that form our Nerdist Camp and we call Nerdists (nerdy-creative-tech people who know how to do all things technical in an artistic way). These people can get your material online for a small fee. You can send a support ticket message to Nerdist Camp for help with updating any of your profile content, or look for the Nerdist Camp area that is coming soon to our Artist Services store.
How do I upload more than one song at a time (i.e an EP or a full CD)?
You can upload a zip file of all the mp3s from your project as one digital product to be sold in your Artist Store. For more information about WinZip, check out www.WinZip.com. For a free WinZip alternative, visit www.jzip.com.
Is there a browser you would recommend for this site?
We have found that Google Chrome for Windows does often show errors or cause formatting challenges that are not present in current versions of Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer. We would recommend another browser than Chrome for your best experience here.

Copyrights, Sales & Downloads

What about copyright ownership?
Whoever owns the copyrighted material that you choose to upload will continue to own it exclusively while it is made available in our online community, The Artist Map. You keep your copyrights, we tell the world about them.
How do I get paid for Downloads and Sales?
Through the PayPal Email Address that you provide us through your My Profile page. You will receive a payout once your balance exceeds $15.00 USD.

Music & Other Media Content

How do I know if my content is appropriate for a “positive music space”?
The Artist Map Community is a family-friendly, positive social space - in the traditional sense of the word. It’s for eyes and ears of all ages. Please be sure the content you upload and comments you post fit within these parameters. We reserve the right to take offensive accounts offline without notice.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Please send a message through the Report Content link at the bottom of the website, and we will deal with the issue as soon as possible.
How are Artist Rankings calculated on the site?
Artist Rankings are calculated by what we define as their overall Artist Clout. Our algorithm calculates Artist Clout through analysis of each Artist's overall activity, merging data from their views, plays, downloads, widget activity and ratings.

How do I get more fans and visitors to my Artist Profile?
Promote your Artist Profile link, your EPK and your Artist Widgets by creating and updating great content on your artist profile that will bring people back for more. Stream great music on your radio stations, and your best videos on your video channels, some of them with a personal message from you. You can also tweet your activity through your Twitter account, and encourage your Facebook friends to share your artist profile with their Facebook friends who are music fans!
How do get in touch with Tech Support with an issue or suggestion?
Log in to your account, click on Settings, then Support Tickets and Open New Ticket. Type in the details of your issue or suggestion, and be sure to select Technical Support from the drop-down menu so the right person on our Support Team can respond to you quickly. Someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible, typically within 24 hours.

Artist Map Community Store

What items can I sell in the Store?
You can sell any physical product that you can ship and any digital product that your fans can download. The number and type of items you can sell also depend on the type of Artist account you have. Please check the comparison chart on the subscriptions page in your Artist settings menu to see whether the Gold, Platinum or Rockstar account is best for your needs as an Artist.

Chat Room Q & A

Here are some tips and tricks to get your computer set up for the best experience for Video Chat:
  1. Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash. You can download it here http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.
  2. Use a wired connection for the most reliable connection. Sometimes connectivity can fluctuate if you are not on a wired connection. So, if you're using wireless, you will probably experience some drop outs, as you would on Skype or another video chat platform.
  3. Close out Skype or any other program that may be using your webcam. If Video Chat does not automatically connect with your webcam, you may need to run through the camera and microphone settings.
  4. Use headphones to eliminate echo. (This is an issue common to all web-based video chat services).
  5. Check microphone sensitivity by running through your computer's preferences.
  6. This is a family-friendly community. Users who attempt to utilize chat in any form to cause harm, behave obscenely, or otherwise disturb the peace of others will be banned without notice.
